(surrender)

"A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." (Proverbs 16:9)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5)

'Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever.' (1 Samuel 2:35)

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)

"For as many are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God." (Romans 8:14)

"A man's steps are of the Lord. How then can a man understand his own way?" (Proverbs 20:24)"

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27)

And because this still sends chills up my spine, for some strange reason:

"I came to send fire on the earth ... Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division." (Luke 12:49)

Woah wait. This sounds like Satan talking. Not God. God came before the earth did. He made earth. Why would God want to burn what he created and cause division among us? Who is said this?

Well for starters, He DID create the flood that killed all of creation. He promised He'd never do that again, but He did do it.
And God doesn't want division, but He knew that when Jesus came he would not be welcomed with loving arms by everyone. He knew He'd be setting familes apart. It's just the way it was. Not everyone was going to accept the Messiah.
