Last night was so awesome. =]
Started with Bill & I going out for dinner, then picking up Jen & Cit from my house to drive to Ann Arbor. We stopped by the Blind Pig to pick up Jen & Cit's tickets, met Lovedrug (who was hanging out outside of the venue.. and are all quite attractive, I must say!) and took a peek at Copeland doing their sound check. Then Jen, Bill, Cit & I went downtown Ann Arbor to look around and waste time. Went back to the Blind Pig and stood in line for an hour with Ryan Graham, Spencer, Drew, and a bunch of other guys. We played Big Booty for about a hundred years, probably annoying everyone within earshot but it was honestly so fun. =]
The show was so amazing. It was Lights (which was this girl and two guys, they were alright, I used to be more into her music about a year ago) then Lovedrug (who doesn't just look good but also sounds really, really good) and then COPELAND! I managed to get myself to the absolute front and actually sat on the edge of the stage while Copeland played and actually talked with their bassist while they were setting up. Aaron is incredible! The band sounds better live than on CD. And they played most of my favorite songs (Brightest, You Have My Attention, Chin Up, No One Really Wins, Careful Now, Control Freak, etc), which always makes a show better. I was thinking they'd just play new stuff (and considering the fact that I just got their new CD, oh I don't know, two days ago, I didn't really know the new stuff well) but they didn't. Anyway, it was an awesome show. We left at around 11:45, I got home by 12:15 and passed right out.
All in all it was a great show. A couple guys were kind of getting on my nerves, some for being obnoxious, some for just not understanding that not all girls love being touched all over, but the music trumped all, hands down. =]
I'm in for a good weekend, I believe.
