So I'm working at Family Christian this past Saturday.. which was really fun to begin with because we all dressed up as pirates to advertise for that Veggie Tales movie "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything". But yeah, so Josh comes and visits me and I showed him this book I'd just found called unChristian, and it's kind of about the stereotypes that Christians receive (that we're judgmental, hypocritical, that we hate gay people, etc) and how to live outside of the "stereotypical Christian" and be how God really wants us to be and live.
So I'm telling Josh about it, and probably yelling at the top of my lungs for everyone to hear because I can't seem to get excited about things without yelling. Then some customers come up and I ring them up at the register, talk to them. There was this really nice guy named Jeremy who was buying a gift for his aunt. Just such a sweetheart. I talked to him while I rung up his items, then smiled at him, told him to have a good day and started talking to Josh again.
Fifteen minutes later, our work phone rings. Richelle answers, and I just keep talking to Josh. Five minutes later, she's off the phone and holding up a copy of unChristian. "Did you talk to any of the customers about this book?". I pointed to Josh and told her just him. "Anyone else?" No one. I asked why, and she said "Some guy just called in here, bought this book with his credit card and told me to give it to you to have."
SOOO AWESOME! What a blessing! That book was like, $20. Not something I can really afford to get right now. And being myself, I had to know who bought it, so I checked the credit card number that bought the book and checked all of our other credit receipts, and guess who it was? That nice guy. Jeremy Devee. Jeremy Devee, I know you'll never read this, but THANK YOU for the book! God blesses in so many unexpected ways, never doubt for a second that one might be coming your way!
